Ceri Dupree at Trinity Market
It was all meat and fish in Hull’s indoor market – Trinity Market – on Saturday 5th May, as Ceri Dupree owned the stage for Back to Ours’ latest gig. Not so much ‘back to ours’ as back to a 1970s working men’s club or cheeky seaside end of pier show. Lewd, smutty, politically incorrect – and outrageously funny. I actually saw one man fall off his chair – quite literally fall of his chair laughing.
“It costs a lot to look this cheap,” said Ceri.
Maybe it undid several years of photographing intelligent highbrow theatre, but I laughed so much I had to turn ‘image stabilisation’ on.
Guilty. I rather enjoyed it.
